Clever, adventurous, and curious, Red Fox children deepen their connection to nature through exploration, games, and hands-on learning. Each day in the forest is filled with songs, wildcrafting, hiking, tracking, and playful discovery as we build our naturalist skills and grow awareness and respect for the land and all its beings. There’s always time to follow our curiosity—building fairy houses, forts, and shelters, and soaking in the simple wonder of a beautiful summer day. Red Fox is led by our full-time teachers who also teach our Forest School.

Sarah is absolutely amazing. [My daughter] ADORES her and the staff. She’s asked to do all her summer camp weeks at Merrohawke next year.

In regards to overall well being, [my son] really gains confidence here. He complained his other camp we tried did not have enough “risky play”, and appreciates being able to pick up sticks and crack open rocks etc. “Have fun and be safe” is his favorite set of rules, as he feels trusted at Merrohawke to make some safe decisions. Also, he loves being able to get dirty and have lots of free time to explore and be creative. I’m not sure any other camp could compare to the joy brought by the “frog hotel.”

Sarah was incredible! The whole staff was great, but she really helped make the weeks special..

The long email description from Sarah about the kids' week is very useful, but also really fleshes out the richness of each day's programming.

I like that you have adults working there. It makes me feel safer about my kids being watched after. (Some camps have really young staff with no adults running the groups.)
